Page Background

Considerable progress has been made over the last 20 years in developing

Integrated Crop Management programs that include Biorational and

conventional products, for the control of pests and diseases in a wide variety

of crops. With its innovative Growing for The Future programs Certis Europe

has assisted growers to adapt their production to the requirements of the

supermarkets regarding of the number of active substances used and the

accepted Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs). G4TF responds to the most

demanding consumer desires in terms of freshness, good appearance, size

and flavour in their fresh fruits and vegetables as well as residue-free healthy

crops, produced safely for the environment and the workers.

This project was initiated in Certis in Spain working in cooperation with

major growers and large producer groups. It has now spread more widely

across southern Europe, developing protocols and pest and disease control

programs in both conventional farming (IPM programs using a very low

percentage of conventional products and a high percentage of biorational

products) and organic agriculture, producing totally residue-free crops (using

biorationals with auxiliary insects and pheromones for mating disruption or

‘attract and kill’ systems). Programs have been developed for protected fruit

and vegetable crops, stone fruits, soft fruits, citrus and vines.

In addition to developing new products, work also continues on the

development of existing products from the company’s Biorational portfolio

to offer effective, safe and sustainable solutions across more crops and

against different pests.
