Geographic expansion outside Europe
Next to Europe, an increased interest for pyridate development in vegetables
can be seen in different parts of the world (Middle East and Africa, Latin
America, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia). The two main drivers
for this are the loss of old, low-value active ingredients and the export of
different vegetables to Europe. Exporting vegetables to Europe provides
the opportunity to access higher value markets but all imported consumer
goods must meet European food chain requirements. This limits the available
product portfolio for growing vegetables outside Europe, increasing the
interest for pyridate-based solutions. All the technical excellence acquired
in the last decade in Europe will be essential to support the pyridate
development on other continents.
