Europe

Belchim has successfully finalized the pyridate active ingredient registration

(AIR) renewal process thanks to in-house state of the art regulatory know-

how. Pyridate registration was renewed in Europe for 15 years in 2015.

After the pyridate AIR process, Belchim Regulatory colleagues successfully

prepared the Lentagran 45WP article 43 process strategy, at this date almost

finalized in Europe with success. These critical regulatory steps ensure the

future availability of pyridate in Europe for vegetable farmers and enable

Belchim to develop future innovations with this proprietary molecule. The

loss of important competitors in the contact herbicide market is expected to

generate a sales increase of Lentagran 45WP of over 10%. Pyridate is currently

registered in 27 different vegetable crops across Europe. In the coming years

Belchim is actively screening pyridate in 15 extra vegetable crops to target

newmarkets. User exposure and ease of use for growers are critical elements

for future pyridate innovations. Constant innovation is key for agrochemical

companies and Belchim is therefore actively investing in these elements. All

future pyridate innovations will significantly grow Belchim’s position in the

targeted markets and continuously boost the market value extraction. This

should enable Belchim to further increase pyridate turnover and net profit in

vegetables significantly over the coming 10 years.
