Page Background

This region is vast and represents significant future growth for Belchim Crop

Protection. Every season we see the positive results of the strategy we set

for the region five years ago. In 2021, the business grew by 61%, with similar

growth rates expected in the coming years.

Due to the ongoing work of the development and regulatory teams, the

region has a strong pipeline of upcoming registrations, including in some of

the world’s biggest markets and crops, such as cereals in Ukraine, soybean

in Argentina, and corn in Indonesia.

Our focus in this region remains on arable crops, however we always

consider and nurture opportunities in specialty crops, which are a part of

Belchim’s DNA and well served by the valifenalate family of products. A lot

of R&D work is also now being done on biorational products, which will be

an important addition to the portfolio in the future.

Rest of the world

"In 2021, the overall Asian crop business continued to be affected by Covid 19 pandemic

as well as supply disruption. Despite that, Belchim continues to make nice inroads into

the region by successfully gaining product registrations and label expansions, and

enlarging development footprints in the region. We are expecting nice sales growth in

the years to come."

Chee Yong Liew,

Business Development Manager Asia

"Despite Covid challenges, we had a successful launch of Botiga, our corn herbicide,

in the huge Ukranian corn market (4.5 million hectares), with a bright perspective to

achieve a significant market share. Also, sales of our Proman 600 herbicide continue

to grow and win market share, by fully satisfying farmers' needs in the huge sunflower

market (6.3 million hectares)."
