The Evolution of Belchim
Phase 4: 2015-20 –
Global expansion and improved structure
Having established a strong presence in Europe, Belchim began to look
outward. In order to take a strong position in North America, it acquired
established US and Canadian companies. It began the process of developing
and registering its own five molecules in more than 50 countries around the
world, also establising a rep office in South East Asia. During this time, the
company also went through an internal restructuring, after the sad passing
away of the founder and CEO.
Phase 5: 2021-27 –
New shareholder, innovation & biologicals
Belchim welcomed a new majority shareholder in April 2021, Mitsui
Agrisciences International, further enabling its focus on innovation and
growth. Alongside its sister company, Certis Europe, particular focus will be
on two strong sources of innovation in the crop protection sector: Japan
and biologicals. Belchim and Certis will remain focused on maintaining their
top technical expertise across all crops and segments, in order to maximise
the value of each molecule in their portfolio.
