Fronton
Every year Belchim Crop Protection organises an event in the vineyards at
the Fronton Research Station to present the various trials in progress using
the products from its portfolio.
This is always a special day for the Belchim team to spend time with the local
winegrowers, vineyard leaders and technicians. The meeting is dedicated to
sharing experience, understanding needs and expectations and proposing
new solutions.
During the Trials Tour on 21st July 2021 the guests were asked to focus on
their needs, specifying issues with which Belchim could help them.
Emmanuel Archer, Crop Manager,
asked:
“What is really important for you to see today, how can I help you to manage
specific issues or diseases?"
Matthieu Portelli, a winegrower with 120 hectares,
joined the discussion:
“To be honest, we spend a lot of time in the vineyards and we are expert on
the main diseases, but due to bans on the use of a number of actives,
new specifications from our cooperatives(*) and consumers, we face a big issue
with Black Rot. Even growers who start planting grape varieties resistant to
Downy and Powdery Mildew, need to spray against this disease, so if you have
anything to show us relating to this disease, that would be perfect.”
