Belchim, as a member of the Mitsui family, is in a strong position to help
farmers and other stakeholders to meet these targets. Sustainability is
embedded into Belchim’s strategic and operational activities, and can
be summarized into three broad categories: product portfolio, product
application and business operations.
Product Portfolio
• Developing products with favourable eco-toxicological profiles that meet
increasing EU regulations and contribute to the Farm to Fork strategy
target of reducing the use of hazardous pesticides by 50%
• Developing biological products, which are suitable for organic farmers,
as well as conventional farmers, and meet increasing requirements of
stakeholders in the food chain
• Focusing on concentrated, high-quality formulations, which decrease
volume of product required

®
is a bio fungicide based on the specific
Trichoderma strain named SC1, isolated
from hazelnut plant tissue. Belchim Crop
Protection first launched Vintec against Esca
wood disease in vineyards and vine nurseries,
and it has since been further developed
into additional crops and segments, such as
indoor tomatoes against Botrytis.
