Page Background

Belchim is committed to provide complete and sustainable solutions to

help farmers protect their production with the integration of conventional,

natural and biological products in combined spray programs.

With the intent of strengthening the company presence in this segment,

in November 2020 Belchim acquired the distribution rights for Nihon

Nohyaku’s acaricide, tebufenpyrad, in a large number of countries around

the world. This strengthens Belchim’s presence in the acaricide market with

a broader portfolio in speciality crops. Together with milbemectin-based

products already present in our offer (Milbeknock

®

and Koromite

®

), products

containing tebufenpyrad are now marketed under the names of Shirudo

®

and Pyranica

®

. This new Belchim combined and complementary offer of

acaricides provides broad-spectrum activity against different mite species,

effects on all stages, strong knock-down, translaminar activity, and long-

lasting efficacy. Furthermore, this broadened portfolio combination meets

the need for flexibility and delivers a strong anti-resistance solution to

growers.

Both tebufenpyrad and milbemectin are active on a wide spectrum of mites:

being able to control

Tetranychidae, Tarsonemidae

and

Eriophydae

with

excellent efficacy, they are among the few acaricides that can control all the

types of mites.

Both Milbeknock and Shirudo can control mites through all the possible

modes of action. They have contact efficacy if directly sprayed on the

mites while, if applied on leaves, they work by ingestion. They also have

translaminar activity that enables them to control mites feeding on the

underside of the leaves. This complete range of modes of action gives the

Belchim offer an excellent capacity to control mites.
